Description	:	On July 16, 2013, Lena Johnson Edwards (97) a life-long Harford County resident died peacefully at OakCrest Village where she was currently residing, in Parkville Maryland. Born on July 27, 1915 to the late Henry Adolph and Catherine Markline Johnson, Lena was the last surviving of six children. She grew up in Madonna and attended the Madonna and Jarrettsville schools. Read More	On July 16, 2013, Lena Johnson Edwards (97) a life-long Harford County resident died peacefully at OakCrest Village where she was currently residing, in Parkville Maryland. Born on July 27, 1915 to the late Henry Adolph and Catherine Markline Johnson, Lena was the last surviving of six children. She grew up in Madonna and attended the Madonna and Jarrettsville schools. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and currently its eldest life-long member. Lena was mostly a housewife, but did work for a short time at Glen L. Martin Company and for eight years as a bus driver for the St. Clair Motor Company. She was very involved in numerous Church and community activities; serving as Chaplain for the Mary Circle of Bethel Church for many years and on other Church committees. She was an adult leader of The Happy Helpers and The Willing Workers, Jr., 4-H Clubs, and Charter Member and Past President of the Jarrettsville Lioness Club. On January 9, 2006, Harford County Council honored her as a Harford Living Treasure, interviewing her for the local history. On November 28, 1936, she married Wayne Robert Edwards, now deceased. They were married sixty-six years. She is survived by her four daughters; Patricia E. St. Clair, Marjorie E. Markley, Nancy E. Amrein, and Millicent E. Zwiebelman. Also survived by her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor Lena's life at Bethel Presbyterian Church 4135 Norrisville Road, White Hall, Maryland 21161 on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 3-5 & 7-9, where a funeral will be Monday, July 22, 2013 beginning at 11:30 AM. Interment Church Cemetery with pallbearers Michael St. Clair, Gary Oden, William Hess, Gregory Osik, Geoffrey Osik, and Eric Zwiebelman. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church at the address above
