Read More	Spencer Advocate (NE); 4 Feb 1937 Mrs. Gerhard Loock, 81, Had Been Resident of Local Community Since 1892 Lena Kloke was born on November 23, 1855, at Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and passed away at the Spencer hospital on January 29, 1937 at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 6 days. As a young girl, she came with her parents to West Point, Nebr. She was united in marriage to Gerhard Loock on November 24, 1881, and a home was established in Cuming county. They lived there only until 1892 and that year moved onto a homestead south of Spencer, which has continued to be the family home. To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters, one son and one daughter dying in infancy, and Mr. Loock passed away in 1903. The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Alma Hanley and Mrs. Lena Madden, both of Portland, Oregon and Albert and Frank Loock of Spencer. Mrs. Loock enjoyed good health until about two years ago when she was stricken with a heart ailment. Last winter, she spent several months with her daughters in Portland, coming back to the family home here last spring. When her condition became alarming just before Christmas, she was brought to the local hospital and the remainder of her days were spent there. Besides her four children, she is survived by 22 grandchildren and an aged sister, Mrs. Mary Drahos, of Omaha. Funeral rites were conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Mary's Catholic church, with Rev. Fr. Gebauer officiating, and the remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the Catholic cemetery.
