A large concourse of friends and the many lovely floral tributes were a beautiful tribute to the high esteem in which Mrs. Favinger was held in the community. Lena Smith Favinger was born November 21, 1902, at the farm home northwest of Minden, being 27 years, three months and twenty seven days of age at the time of her death. She was married to Clair Favinger, December 20, 1924. To this union one child, Helen Maxine was born, March 8, 1930, being ten days old on the day of her mother's funeral. Mrs. Favinger was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith who reside ten miles northwest of Minden. She graduated from the Minden high school with the class of 1921 and was a very popular teacher in the rural schools of Kearney county for four years. She leaves to mouirn her departure her devoted husband and little daughter, her parents, one sister, Mrs. Floyd Rector, of Dorchester, Nebraska, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Favinger united with the Methodist church in Minden, April 8, 1928. They were members of the Keystone Sunday school class and she very cheerfully responded when asked to preside at the piano, or to assist in any other way. Having complied with the commands of God as set forth in His Book we claim the promise of Jesus that he gave to his disciples; "That where I am, there ye may be also."
