Read More	Lena Mae Fick, the middle of three children, was born on August 1, 1929, in Mapleton, IA, to parents Herman Ernest Henry and Anna L. (Weifenback) Fick. Lee was baptized on September 1, 1929, and confirmed on June 13, 1943, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Mapleton, IA. Lee attended Mapleton Community High School graduating with the class of 1948. After graduation, she worked in Charter Oak as a waitress and as a bookkeeper for John Deere Company. Lee met her soulmate, Otis, at Lakewood Ballroom in Lake View, IA while attending a dance. She moved to Sac City after her engagement and was employed by McCorkle Construction and the Lytton Creamery. On December 5, 1954, Otis and Lee were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sac City, IA. They were blessed with four children Shelly, Steven, Scott, and Stuart. Lee was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sac City, IA. She was a dedicated Christian and devoted time to the church. She loved baking, cooking, and entertaining. Oftentimes making way more than was necessary. From her five course lunch meals to her endless baking of holiday sweets, Lee found comfort in cooking and baking for those she loved. Lee enjoyed being active. For many years she partook in water aerobics, loved riding her bike, and participated in area walks for hunger. Starting in 1996, Lee began delivering the Des Moines Register to residents of Lytton. She also brought individuals their mail who no longer were able to leave their homes with ease and helped out with the Lytton Town Crier. Rain or shine, by foot or by bike, Lee made it a priority to get everyone their mail. She could be seen riding her blue three wheeled bike around Lytton with mail loaded in the basket making her deliveries all over town. In the spring of 2010, she was named Lytton’s Friendly Neighbor. Her grandchildren gave her such joy and she loved watching them grow up. Playing kickball in the summer, Duck Duck Goose in the winter, and driving hours away trying to find the next new “it” toy, are just a few of the many activities she enjoyed doing with them. As they grew older, Lee could always be found cheering them on at sporting events and school activities. Lee was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was dedicated to raising her children and loved to spend time with them, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children: daughter Shelly Schultz of Red Wing, MN, son Steven (Dee Dee) Schultz of Sac City, IA, son Scott Schultz (Sarah Bourne) of Alexandria, VA, son Stuart (Georgia) Schultz of Saratoga, CA; grandchildren: Shelby (Jason) Pudenz of Carroll, IA, Sara (Ross) Renze of Early, IA, Taylor (Brandon) Buzzell of Columbus, WI, Jeffrey Schultz of Waterloo, IA, Erik Schultz of Saratoga, CA; great-grandchildren: Alexis & Makena Pudenz, Ryker Renze, Mikaela, Maxx, and Maverick Buzzell; brother Harold Fick of Callender, IA; in-laws: Della Appel of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Richard V. and Phyllis Schultz of Ridgecrest, CA, Don Schultz of Sioux City, IA, Leah (Hal) Colburn of Spokane, WA; and many other relatives and friends survive her and mourn her passing. Lee is preceded in death by her husband Otis; parents Herman and Anna Fick; sister Ida; father and mother in-law Victor and Helene Schultz.
