Edward Keller, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vern Spregel, Wm. Kruse, Bruce Boelter, Robert Dvorak, Chris Warriner and Herman Kruse. Lena Meager was born to Adolph and Eliza Meager on Oct. 6, 1903 at Schollbrunn, Germany and died Dec. 26 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital after five days of unconsciousness caused by a stroke. In 1921, at the age of 18, she and her brother, Adolph came to America. She was married to Chris Kruse on March 2, 1924 at Christ Lutheran Church at Bazile Mills. They farmed north of Winnetoon until retiring and moving into their new home in Creighton in the fall of 1964. Three children were born to them; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Elsie) Fricke of Bloomfield and Mrs. Donald (Elwood) of Creighton and one son, Adolph of Verdigre, all of whom survive. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; one brother, Adolph of Vancouver, Wash. and nine sisters, Mrs. Lottie Kruse of Winnetoon and Mrs. Hilda Kruse of Creighton and seven living in Germany.
