Description	:	Farmington – Lendall A. Drown, 94, of Jay, died late Wednesday evening at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born in Dixfield, Nov. 24, 1919, a son of Percy and Mina (Durrell) Drown and received his education in Dixfield schools. He later attended Bliss Business School. Mr. Drown was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force having served in various locations around the world during World War II. On May 22, 1942, he married Clara M. Wright in Auburn. Drown, 94, of Jay, died late Wednesday evening at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born in Dixfield, Nov. 24, 1919, a son of Percy and Mina (Durrell) Drown and received his education in Dixfield schools. He later attended Bliss Business School. Mr. Drown was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force having served in various locations around the world during World War II. On May 22, 1942, he married Clara M. Wright in Auburn. She died May 13, 2011. Mr. Drown owned and operated Savage's Garage in Dixfield for many years; he and his wife later lived on Damariscotta Lake where he also worked rebuilding starters and alternators before moving to Jay in 1982. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and fishing and was always looking out for the well-being of his loved ones. He is survived by his daughters, Maxine Wyman and her husband, Milford of North Jay and Blinda Burgess and her husband, Bill of Quincy, MA; a grand daughter, Dawn McArthur and her husband, Ralph of Farmington; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Evan, Elliot, Emily, and Erica all of Farmington and Brandon of Ashland, ME; one great-great granddaughter, Taylin; several nieces He was predeceased by a son, Wayne; a daughter, Donna; grandchildren, Michael Wyman and Wendy Wyman; and brothers, Cleston, Bayne, and Cleo. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Edgewood Rehabilitation Center in Farmington and the Third Floor nursing staff and the physicians at Franklin Memorial Hospital for the tremendous care Lendall received prior to his passing. Private interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Dixfield. The family suggests that those who desire give memorial gifts in Mr. Drown's memory to the charity of one's choice.
