Lenice Marie was born April 9, 1925 to Ben and Marie (Severa) Koza at Grandpa and Grandma Severa's farm home in rural Stanton, Nebraska. Lenice went to Country School District #51 through 8th grade. She then went to Stanton High School and graduated in 1943. She attended Wayne State College and taught 16 years in rural school districts. Read More	Lenice Frank died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at the Stanton Health Center. Lenice Marie was born April 9, 1925 to Ben and Marie (Severa) Koza at Grandpa and Grandma Severa's farm home in rural Stanton, Nebraska. Lenice went to Country School District #51 through 8th grade. She then went to Stanton High School and graduated in 1943. She attended Wayne State College and taught 16 years in rural school districts. Also, she taught her son, Don, for 1or 2 years in a rural Stanton school. Lenice married her high school sweetheart, Ervin Frank, on December 30, 1944 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Lenice assisted with farming for approximately 60 years (she jokes that she was the "son" in the family). Lenice lived at a farm home from 1925 – 2001 (76 years), then moved to her house in Stanton from 2001 – 2017. She then moved to Westside Regency on October 24, 2017. Later on in early 2021, she moved over to the Stanton Health Center. Lenice had many hobbies and leisure activities. She loved to dance polkas, waltzes and modern dance. She started at barn dances. She bowled in a bowling league as an adult and had a 160 average. She had many trophies! Her talents included drawing and painting barnboard pictures, doing crafts, sewing aprons, clothing, lap robes for Vets hospitals, gifts and clothing. She was famous for being a VFW Auxillary member for 75 years. Lenice was in the VFW Auxillary and VFW District and served as State VFW President and Auxillary Treasurer for 15 years. Lenice held many different jobs in the State and National VFW Auxillary. Lenice did not neglect her church. She served in many different positions in St. Peter's Alter Society and various departmental jobs in the Omaha Archdiocese. As a life member of the Stanton Historical Society, Lenice donated many antiques and had supported the Stanton Museum for many years. She helped organize many events for the Historical Society. She had also held several offices in the Alumni Association. Lenice was proud of all her travels. She had been to every state in the United States except for Delaware, five provinces / territories in Canada, four countries in South America, ten countries in Europe, Mexico and Panama. She crossed the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Amazon, Rhine, and Danube Rivers. She had washed her hands in the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, and Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. She is survived by her son, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lenice was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, who passed suddenly in 1989 and brother-in-law Elvin Frank. Interment will be in the Stanton Cemetery.
