Read More	Lenora "Toadie" Faye Gloyer BORN: February 23, 1930 DIED: November 28, 2015 LOCATION: Whiting, Iowa Lenora "Toadie" Faye Gloyer, 85, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away quietly Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Gloyer family farm surrounded by memories of love. Nora was nicknamed "Toadie" as a small child because she grew up in the depression era, and all she had to play with were the small toads near the stream where she lived. She attended the Lake Circle country school in Whiting, where her teacher was Imogene Parker Anderson. Later in life, Lenora and Imo became neighbors and best friends. Lenora worked in rural Whiting. One day, in front of the Whiting Bank, she met the love of her life, a soldier who had just returned from WWII. On March 25th, 1948, Vernon and Lenora were united in marriage in Onawa, Iowa. Vernon and Lenora first started farming in Anamosa, Iowa, but later returned to the Whiting area, where they worked side by side for the rest of their lives. Their farm north of Whiting was nicknamed Camelot. One of the highlights of her life was when her grandchildren, Charity, Travis and Noah came to visit, and when the train stopped on the tracks near her home, and presented her with a gift for her 84th birthday. Left to cherish Lenora's memory is her daughter, Vernice Gloyer Ankerstjerne of Onawa; a granddaughter, Charity Ankerstjerne, and a great-grandson, Noah; sister, Shirley Richardson; sisters-in-law: Delores Gloyer, Doris Nelson, Eva Mae Nelson, Helen Nelson, and Kathy Hanks; as well as a beloved family pet, Mr. Bo Jangles. Lenora was proceeded in death by her Soulmate, Vernon Gloyer; her daughters in infancy, Verna Jean, and Veronica Kay; her parents, Harry and Meta Nelson; her brothers, Raymond(Nora)(Ida), Robert "Bus" (Nora), Karl, Clifford (Frances), Gerald "Shorty" (Betty), Fredrick "Johnny" , Francis "Jimmy", Milford; and sisters, Lila Maxine "Blondie" (Art) and Lillian Mae; brother-in-law, Guy Richardson; a son-in-law, Steve Ankerstjerne; and a treasured Grandson, Travis Ankerstjerne.
