Read More	January 22, 1915 - August 31, 2005 Lenora Mae Cordier, 90, formerly a resident at the Evans Hotel Apts. in Hot Springs, S.D., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at the White River Healthcare Center, in White River, S.D. Lenora Mae Cordier was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Okreek, S.D., and was the sixth child of Joseph and Annie (Prue) Cordier. She attended local schools and graduated from high school at the St. Francis Indian Mission School, St. Francis. Lenora had worked in hospitals as a blue girl, assisting nurses and doctors, and was also, employed by private families in several locations, including Rosebud, Denver, Colo., Carson City, N.V., and San Francisco, Calif. Lenora married Charles Black in 1946. They had two children, Jodeen and Richard. The family lived in Igloo, where Charles was employed at the Black Hills Army Depot. While there, Lenora raised her children and also took in and cared for children in need. In July, 1966, Charles was transferred to the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hawthorne, Nev., so the family moved to Babbitt, Nev. Lenora was employed briefly, by the El Capitan Casino in Hawthorne. Charles Black died in 1993. Lenora will be remembered as a caring person by many. She is survived by her daughter, Jodeen O'Donoghue, of Fallon, Nev., and son, Richard Black, of Schurz, Nev., and also, a sister, Christine Moore, of Rosebud. Also, surviving, are seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, by her husband, Charles, and former husband, Asa Jones, her parents, and nine brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Tues., Sept. 6, 2005, at the St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Francis, with Fr. Jones and Deacon Leroy DeCory, officiating. Burial was at the Catholic Cemetery in St. Francis. Arrangements were made by the Holmes Funeral Home of Valentine, Neb.
