Born in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Orpha Llewellyn Dinsmoor. Her family history included educators, artists, writers and politicians. Read More	Athens Messenger - February 7, 2007 NEW MARSHFIELD - Lenore Dinsmoor Sickels, of New Marshfield, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, 2007, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. Born in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Orpha Llewellyn Dinsmoor. Her family history included educators, artists, writers and politicians. She was a graduate of Waterloo High School and Ohio University, with a master's degree in political science. Mrs. Sickles retired from teaching high school government and law. She taught at Albany High School from 1960-1965 and Nelsonville-York High School 1965-1999, and substituted at Athens High School until 2006. She was devoted to her students, who feared and revered her. She also encouraged her students to participate in government and politics. Mrs. Sickles was active in politics and the Democratic Party. She organized, was a longtime member and officer of the former Athens Area Democratic Women's Club. She was a charter member of the 10th Congressional District Democratic Action Club. She also served as precinct committeeman from Waterloo Twp. for many years and was chairman of the Athens County Central Committee and vice chairman of the Athens County Executive Committee. She was longtime member of the Athens County Historical Society and New Marshfield VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gwen Dinsmoor, Ardath Llewellyn and Claudia Dinsmoor; three brothers, Claire, Reese and Roland "Rusty" Dinsmoor. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 1 p.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, by Pastor David Cogar. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.
