Lamb age 92, of Canal Winchester, Ohio died on June 19, 2013. He was born on January 26, 1921 to the late Donald and Inez Lamb in Columbus, Ohio. Leo was a 1939 graduate of Canal Winchester High School. He proudly served in the United States Army. Leo was a lifelong farmer and had a special visit to his farm from U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson. He was a member of the Lions Club in Canal Winchester where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Leo was Chairman of the Ohio State Fair Commission where appointments were made by Governor George Voinvich and Richard Celeste. He showed livestock nationally including Hampshire Hogs, Quarter Horses and Angus Cattle. Leo was a recipient of the hundred bushel corn award in the 1950's. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife whom he married on February 20, 1944, Mary Louise; sister, Betty (Berno) Massa; and daughter-in-law, Sally (Boyer) Lamb. He is survived by his three chidren, Thomas F. Lamb of Circleville, Ohio, Ronald L. Lamb of Charlotte, North Carolina and Linda S. Lamb of South Haven, Michigan; ten grandchildren, Susanne (Kent) Hardin, Donald (Laura) Lamb, Michelle (Reed) Witt Pulver, Brian (Alyssa) Witt, Bradlee (Jill) Witt, Michael Lamb, Katie Lamb, Colleen Lamb, Joey Lamb and Quinn (Maggie) Lamb; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 West Waterloo Street,Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110 on Saturday, June 22, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Dave and Beth Long-Higgins will be held at the David's United Church of Christ, 80 West Columbus Street, Canal Winchester,Ohio 43110 on Sunday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow on Monday, June 24 at Union Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to David's United Church of Christ, Ohio 4-H Foundation, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive,Columbus, Ohio 43210 or the Fairfield County Agriculture Society,157 East Fair Avenue, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
