Description	:	Died at home. Son of Joseph and Anna (Fritz) Knust. Married Alvina Schnell May 7, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. She survives. Others survivors daughters Susie (Jack) Larson, Mary (Bill) Winters, Martha (Randy) McCaffry, Monica Rose (Jeff) Endres and Annette (Dave) Schuetter; sons Ed (Kathy) and John "Pudder" Knust; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and sister Josephine Kaelin. He preceded in death by a grandchild Audrey Knust; sisters Verona Prechtel, Clara Englert and Anna Mae Reh; brothers Albert, Edwin and Theodore Knust; half-sisters Theresa Bockelmann and Margaret Schuch; and half-brothers Michael, Louis and Oscar Knust. He was a WWII Veteran who served with the Army Air Corps. He was a farmer and retired from the Jasper Cabinet Company after 22 years of service. He served as the Jefferson Township Trustee for 4 terms, and served on the township advisory board for 16 years. He also served on the Schnellville Development Club. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a recipient of the Simon Brute Award. He was a member of the American Legion Post #493, VFW Post #673, Schnellville Conservation Club, Jasper Knights of Columbus, and the St. Vincent De Paul Society. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, working on the farm, and spending time with friends and family. Services 10am Monday, October 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation 2-8pm Sunday at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The rosary will be prayed at 1:45pm. Graveside military rites conducted by St.Anthony American Legion Post #493 and Jasper VFW Post #673. Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Cemetary Fund or to a favorite charity.
