Read More	Springdale Morning News Springdale, AR 27 Dec 2011 HUNTSVILLE - Leo Ernest Spurlock, 93, of Huntsville, Ark., died Dec. 24, 2011, at his home. He was born March 21 , 1918, at Aurora, Ark., the son of James Everett and Rebecca McElhaney Spurlock. He was a farmer and had retired from Huntsville High School after many years as an Agri teacher. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps. He was an Elder of the Huntsville Church of Christ, a member of Hayes-Smith Post No. 137, American Legion at Huntsville and a former member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mary Elizabeth Camp Spurlock on Dec. 6, 2011. He was also preceded in death by one son, Dennis C. Spurlock; one brother, James L. Spurlock; and three sisters, Norma Keeter, Erma Owen and Mildred Kelso. Survivors include one son and two daughter-in-law, Stephen E. and Karen Spurlock and Carla Spurlock, all of Huntsville, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Harry and Kari Spurlock of Hindsville, Ark., Ernie and Amanda Spurlock of Springdale, Ark., Denise and Joey McNeely of Huntsville, Ark., Kerry Spurlock of Fayetteville, Ark., Sarah Ward of Springdale, Ark., Suzie and Al Sanford of Fayetteville, Ark., Kristy Hicks of Lowell, Ark., Andrea and John Taylor of Antioch, Tenn., and Ron and Randi Hatfield of Springdale, Ark.; 14 great-grandchildren, Claire Spurlock, Katelyn Spurlock, Laney Spurlock, Kalani McNeely, Quinn Spurlock, Noah Ward, Sophia Sanford, Grady Sanford, Chloe Hicks, Molly Hicks, Madeline Taylor, Nevaeh Hatfield, Eva Hatfield and Maylee Hatfield. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Minister Larry Combs officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders of the Huntsville Church of Christ.
