Description	:	Funeral services for Leo F. Miller, 64, of Lake View, were held Thursday, January 19, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Lake View, with the Rev. Thomas Zoelzer officiating. Mr. Miller passed away at Lake View on January 16 of a heart attack shortly after returning from a trucking trip. Music was provided by the church choir, accompanied by Karen Reiter, organist. Mrs. Harland Wetzstein and Mrs. Herbert Onstot were in charge of the floral memorials. Interment was made in the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of Farber and Otteman Funeral Home of Lake View, where Masonic services were held by Laurel Lodge No. 517 A.F. & A.M. of Lake View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18. Casket bearers were Darrel Kluver, Scott Onstot, Claude Peters, Ray Libby, William Dreessen and Maurice Wolfe. Leo F. Miller was born June 1, 1913 at Verdigree, Nebraska, the son of O.B. and Amanda Neumeier Miller. He attended Pierce, Nebraska public school where he graduated in 1931 from a normal training course. He moved with his family to Orient, Iowa, where his parents owned and operated a newspaper. Leo was originally a printer by trade. In 1938 he came to Lake View and was employed at the Lake View Resort. On August 11, 1940, he was united in marriage to Harriet Mason at Lake View. To this union four children were born. Since their marriage, Leo has been gainfully employed in several places, including the Lake View Concrete Tile Company, the Eqyptian Burial Vault Company, Hanson Silo Company, and trucking gravel and phosphate. The past 25 years his main employment was with Mid-States Equipment Company. Since 1960 he and his wife and children have owned and operated a small children's carnival during the summer months. Leo was a member of the United Church of Christ, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon for several years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he held several offices and was secretary for many years, and was a member of the Denison Repeater Amateur Radio Club which he served as secretary and treasurer. He held an ameteur radio license. He was also an honorary fireman of Lake View. Survivors include his wife Harriet; his daughter, Glee Arnette Leuenberger of Lake View; two sons, Gene Mason Miller and Gale Ardell Miller, both of Lake View; three grandsons: Larry Ray, Tracey Allen and Michael Paul; three sisters: Mrs. E.P. (Ellen) Rutan of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. Wilmer (Margaret) Koss of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Sally Phelps of Ormond Beach, Florida; three brothers: Clyde Miller, Cedar Rapids; Jasper Miller, Des Moines and Ben Miller, Carlisle; 27 nieces and nephews and 33 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gloria Jean; a brother, Arden, and a sister, Fern. SOURCE: The Lake View Resort - 1/25/1978
