He was the husband of the late Cecelia J. Boron. Born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Hormidas and Evelina (Belanger) Fontaine , he lived in Seekonk for 11 years. Mr. Fontaine was an Army veteran of World War II and, as a private first class, served as a cannoneer and gunner with the 778th Tank Battalion under General Patton in Europe. He was a life member of VFW Post 306, and Pawtucket Lodge of Elks 920, both of Pawtucket. He was a member of the LeFoyer Club. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church in South Attleboro. He leaves two daughters, Barbara A. Charlebois of North Attleboro, and Debra J. Lucier of Rehoboth; a son, George L. Fontaine of South Attleboro; a sister, Florence Eklund of Pawtucket; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, with a funeral Mass at 9 at St. Theresa Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro.
