(Guilbeault) Hisoire; 3 children: Ann Marie Hisoire of Northbridge, Gail S. Hisoire of Blackstone, and Leo R. Hisoire and his wife, Kim A. (Curran) Hisoire, of Douglas; a granddaughter, Gabriella L. Hisoire of Douglas; a sister, Rhea Y. Vallee of Northbridge; and nephews and nieces. His sister, Aldea Berkowitz of Northbridge, predeceased him. He was born in Northbridge on April 8, 1926, son of the late Edmond and Rose (Bouchard) Hisoire, and he was a lifelong resident of the town. He graduated from Northbridge High School and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (Chicopee Campus). A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific aboard the escort carrier, USS GILBERT ISLANDS (CVE 107) and participated in the battles of Okinawa and Balikpapan, Borneo. He returned to the United States aboard the battleship USS MASACHUSETTS (BB 59) and was honorably discharged. A pharmacist for over 40 years, Leo worked at Flagg's Pharmacy in Whitinsville, Lynch's Pharmacy in Northbridge, and the CVS Pharmacy in Uxbridge before retiring in 1996. He also organized the pharmacy at St. Camillus Chronic Hospital, Whitinsville, and volunteered at the Whitinsville Free Clinic for many years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Parish where he worked for many years at the parish bingo games and at the annual parish bazaars. He was a skilled woodworker and donated many handcrafted birdhouses, lawn ornaments, toys, toy chests, and deacon's benches for sale at the bazaars. He was also a member of Oliver Ashton Post #343, American Legion, Northbridge, Mumford Council #365, Knights of Columbus, Whitinsville, and the Whitinsville V.F.W. Post. Leo's funeral was on Tuesday, May 5, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 80 School St., with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 39 Church Ave. Burial followed in St. Patrick Cemetery, Whitinsville.
