Description	:	Leo Graber, 86, of Freeman, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Freeman Community Hospital, surrounded by his family. Leo was born July 24, 1928, on the family farm southeast of Freeman to Jonath and Kathryn Graber. He was baptized at Salem Mennonite Church in rural Freeman, where he participated faithfully for the remainder of his life. Read More	Leo Graber, 86, of Freeman, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Freeman Community Hospital, surrounded by his family. Leo was born July 24, 1928, on the family farm southeast of Freeman to Jonath and Kathryn Graber. He was baptized at Salem Mennonite Church in rural Freeman, where he participated faithfully for the remainder of his life. He attended Hillside District 92, as well as Freeman Academy, and continued his education with classes at Freeman Junior College. Leo married Aryabelle Tschetter on November 29, 1963. To this union were born a son, Kendall, and a daughter, Kathryn. Leo and Aryabelle were privileged to celebrate 50 years of marriage with their children and grandchildren in 2013. Leo was a lifelong farmer, living and raising his family on the same farm and in the same home in which he'd been born, until his health precipitated a move into town in 2012. He also enjoyed many years climbing telephone poles as a repairman for the Rosefield Telephone Company and was active in Mennonite Disaster Service, organizing and working on numerous service crews throughout the United States. Leo's family will fondly remember his love for and loyalty to his church and community, and the pleasure he received from his many years participating in softball leagues, men's chorus, Schmeckfest, and Swiss Choral Society, among other local activities. To his children and grandchildren he leaves a legacy of faith, Biblical wisdom, a love of music and theater, and a gift for embellishing a good story. Leo is survived by his wife, Aryabelle; his children: Kendall (Julie), and Kathryn Greve (Bret); his grandchildren: Erika, Austin, and Christian Graber, and Landon and Madeline Greve; and his sister, Verda Saner.
