Hennessey, 85 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at his home. Leo was born February 14, 1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Leo and Lucille(Wilson)Hennessey. He lived in Hemingford, Nebraska, Wahoo, Nebraska, and moved to Fremont in 1959. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from May 25, 1951 to April 28, 1953. Leo married Deloris Meyers June 25, 1955 at David City, Nebraska. They later divorced. He worked at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant in Mead and then worked at Campbell's Soup Company in Fremont. for 38 years. He retired in 1995. He was a very active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. He belonged to Knights of Columbus Council #1497, member of CEC(Christians Encounter Christ) and FOE Eagles Aerie #200 in Fremont. He enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, helping his neighbors and being of service to others. He is survived by sons, Rick Hennessey of Fremont, Kevin and wife, Rabecca Hennessey of Guttenberg, Iowa and Jeff Hennessey of Havelock, North Carolina; daughters, Carol and husband, Ray Carlson and Susan Schilke and fiance, Neal Wegner of North Bend; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ruth Carol Anthes and Kathryn Hennessey. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Benjamin Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6 PM. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont with Military Honors. Memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Patrick's Catholic Church. (mosermemorialchapel.com/obituary)
