Description	:	BRIDGER — Leo Orson Kelsey passed away at his home on Sept. 24, 2010, surrounded by his family, in the great care of Beartooth Hospice. Leo was born to Leander and Bessie Kelsey on June 9, 1927, at Belfry. Fondly known as "Grandpa Leo," he was a man who loved his grandkids. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of the VFW. Leo was married to Frances Bratsky in 1951 and they started their family on a farm outside of Bridger, where Leo and Frances lived all the way until they passed. Among Leo's passions... Read More	BRIDGER — Leo Orson Kelsey passed away at his home on Sept. 24, 2010, surrounded by his family, in the great care of Beartooth Hospice. Leo was born to Leander and Bessie Kelsey on June 9, 1927, at Belfry. Fondly known as "Grandpa Leo," he was a man who loved his grandkids. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of the VFW. Leo was married to Frances Bratsky in 1951 and they started their family on a farm outside of Bridger, where Leo and Frances lived all the way until they passed. Among Leo's passions were his wife, family, grandkids, hunting and building electric fence. He would help any neighbor at any time, day or night. Leo was involved with 4-H and FFA for many years as a leader and chaperon. He was extremely affective with a steel electric cattle prod and could persuade "wrongdoers" to change their bad attitudes rather quickly. Leo had a tremendous sense of humor and would play harmonica for family and friends and veterans at the VA hospitals. Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents; sister Evelyn; and brothers Everett, Marvin, Bob and Lawrence. He is survived by his sisters, Leona Starbird, Betty Bratsky; brothers Harold and Vernon Kelsey; his kids, Herb (Jackie) Kelsey, Carol (Scott) Vierima, Dave (Karen) Kelsey, Tony (Cindy) Kelsey, Mike (Arti) Kelsey; his beloved grandkids and great-grandkids. They were truly his joy. He will be missed and remembered. Cremation will be done by Cremation & Funeral Gallery, and graveside service will be at the Bridger Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, by the Bridger VFW. Instead of flowers, please send memorials to Special K Ranch, 34 Special K Road, Columbus, MT 59019, in memory of Leo Kelsey.
