Description	:	OTTUMWA - Leo V. Cloyd, 90, of Ottumwa, died at 9:51 pm. Aug. 24, 2011, at the home of his sons in Ottumwa. He was born April 23, 1921, in Little Rock, Ark., to Casper and Elva Rudd Cloyd. He married Marcine Pearson on June 29, 1946, in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1987. He was born April 23, 1921, in Little Rock, Ark., to Casper and Elva Rudd Cloyd. He married Marcine Pearson on June 29, 1946, in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1987. A resident of Ottumwa since 1927, he was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He had worked for 30 years for John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1983. Leo enjoyed gardening, fishing, farming, metal detecting and being at home. Surviving are four sons, Michael(Barbara)Cloyd of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, Barry(Monnell)Cloyd and Gregory(Pam)Cloyd, both of Ottumwa, and Alan(Cheryl)Cloyd of Cumberland, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Anthony, Cathy, Emily, Brian, Shawn, Richard, Jocelyn, Casey and Tyler; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Dearborn of Bloomfield; and the family dog, Dusty. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Cloyd; three sisters, Alta Myers, Fern Spangle and Lavinia Cloyd; and two brothers, Robert and Raymond Cloyd. Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home; Pastor Jay Allison officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B.Nelson Post 3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will begin at 11 am Monday with the family present from 6-8 pm Monday evening. Memorials may be made to Hospice, Ottumwa, Iowa. or American Lung Association.
