Description | : | Son of Herman and Carolina (Grell) Jass, Leo was born Aug. 28, 1908 on a farm northeast of Garner. He attended the rural schools of Hancock County and St. John's Parochial School. He worked for various farmers and the Hancock County Highway Department, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. He served on the Hancock County Co-op Oil and Garner Creamery boards for several years and was a 4-H leader for the Liberty Go-Getters.
