She died on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of seventy-four. Read More	Leoda Blunk was born September 26, 1928, the daughter of Henry and Gladys Hardy Reis. She died on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of seventy-four. Leoda was born in Woodbine, Iowa and received her education in the Woodbine Community Schools. After completing her education, Leoda worked at Rever's Café, the Highway Café and various other places. On April 3, 1957, Leoda was united in marriage to DeLaine Blunk at Redwood Falls, Minnesota. The couple made their home on a farm near Charter Oak, Iowa for a short time, before moving to Denison, Iowa. Leoda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Denison. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved being with her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking. In her leisure time, Leoda enjoyed shopping with her family, playing cards, and listening to Johnny Cash music. She also enjoyed laughing, playing practical jokes and teasing people. Leoda expressed her great love for DeLaine and spent a lot of time assisting him at the D & L Service. Leoda and DeLaine were honored to celebrate their forty-fifth wedding anniversary this past April. Leoda was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, LaMoine Reis in infancy, one brother, Merlyn Reis, one sister-in-law, Janice Cooper and two brothers-in-law, Kermit Crane and Lyle Petersen. Survivors include her husband, DeLaine of Denison; four daughters, Connie Wiegel and her husband, Gary of Charter Oak; Vicki Lyman and her husband, Bill of Denison; Shari Brown and her husband, Brad of Portland, Texas; Deb McCollough and her husband, Rex of Vail; one son, Dennis Reis of Genoa, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Nicole and Shane Lett, Taryn and Parker Brown; one sister, Beulah Crane of Dunlap; three brothers, Leonard Reis; Vernon Reis and his wife, Darlene; Gale and his wife, Carol, all of Denison; two sisters-in-law, Marcella Reis of Denison; Joyce Petersen of Charter Oak; one brother-in-law, Robert Cooper and his wife, Joyce of Creston, Iowa; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev. Chrisa Ferguson officiated the service and grave side rites held at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Organist Nancy Miles provided the organ accompaniment for Larry Boeck as he sang "On Eagle's Wings". The congregational hymn was "Amazing Grace". Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Reis, Nicole Lett, Taryn Brown, Vernon Reis and Gale Reis. Those serving as pallbearers were: Rex McCollough, Gary Wiegel, Dennis Reis, Shane Lett, Parker Brown, Brad Brown and Bill Lyman. The family invited those in attendance to join them in fellowship and lunch served by the Methodist Women. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
