(Miller) Faurote was born at her parents home in rural Adair County along with her sister Lela and a brother who passed away shortly after birth on July 23, 1925 to Ernest and Kathryn (Baudler) Miller at her parent's home in rural Fontanelle. She passed away November 7, 2010 from complications of Alzheimer's disease at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle. Leola was raised in Fontanelle and was a graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1942. Leola then attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines. After a brief move to Denver Colorado she returned to Fontanelle where she was employed for many years at the First National Bank. She was baptized and confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Fontanelle where she was a life long member. In 1948 Leola was united in marriage with Frank Edgar Faurote. To this union one son was born. John Faurote of Cedar Rapids. Leola's family now includes three grandsons. Shawn Faurote of Farmington, New Mexico, Eric Faurote of Omaha Nebraska and Ryan Faurote of Ames, Iowa. Leola enjoyed life and was active in her church and community. She worked many years in the secretarial field in Des Moines, Denver, and Fontanelle. She worked at the bank in Fontanelle for 40 years retiring in 1994. Leola's church activities included teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, church vestry Altar Guild, and mentor to confirmation students. She was also a member if the Fontanelle Enterprise Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Leola was preceded in death by her husband Edgar, parents Ernest and Kathryn Miller, Brother Fred (Fritz) Miller and Sister Irene Welch and infant brother.
