Description	:	"Lee was born June 12, 1936, the youngest of five children, on a farm by Brainard to John and Mary Svoboda, during the depression. He received his Catholic sacraments, Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation, at Holy Trinity Parish in Brainard. Lee received his 8th grade education at Farm School District 78 and graduated from Brainard High School in 1954. He received his Catholic sacraments, Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation, at Holy Trinity Parish in Brainard. Lee received his 8th grade education at Farm School District 78 and graduated from Brainard High School in 1954. Being a farm boy, Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and going through the stock car craze of the 1950's. Growing up, his father had a mechanical repair shop which Lee enjoyed. He worked the summer of 1953 for Emmett Scott and after graduation in 1954, Lee returned, working for Emmett for 51 ¾ years until retirement. Lee enjoyed playing cards with family, friends, and his poker and pitch buddies. He enjoyed metal detecting, auctions, collecting, history, all old cars, polka and country music. Lee supported his kids and grandkids in sports with great enjoyment. "Big Red Games" were always a family get-together. Lee's wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids were the highlight of his life, teaching, mostly learning, through trials in life, enjoying the moments. In 1957, Lee met the love of his life, Sue. In 1959 they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in York, where they attended. They were married for 52 plus years, blessed with four children, and a large extended, still growing, treasured family. Lee and Sue loved their church and family, and they raised their children in York. Lee lost the love of his life, Sue, to cancer in 2012; his daughter, Pam in 2007; his son-in-law, Nick Conrad in 1993, and his daughter-in-law, Marla Svoboda in 1988; they at a young age; his brother, George Svoboda; and sisters, Georgia Smith and Marcy Zima. Lee is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Brad) Brooke; son, John (Sharon) Svoboda; daughter, Kathy (Gayle) Vrbas; son-in-law, Thomas Neville; brother, Louis (Grace) Svoboda; brother-in-law, Richard (Marjo) Thompsen; step-mother-in-law, Mildred Thompsen; grandchildren, Josh (Jenny) Conrad; Leslie Svoboda; Jessica (Brett) Himmelberg; Todd Svoboda; Kindra Brooke, Whitney Brooke, twins, Caleb and Jacob Brooke, Evan Neville, Allyson Vrbas, Samantha Neville, Kadin Vrbas, and Ryley Vrbas; great-grandchildren, Keeley, Nicholas, Emory, Malekai, and Breckan Conrad, and Adlee Himmelberg; many nieces and nephews and a special person, Vinney. Lee enjoyed his many friends and true friendships to the end of his life as the Lord gave him many blessings." —The York News Times, July 22, 2013
