Description	:	Leona Joyce Koerselman, 87, of Sioux Center died Saturday, November 3, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A memorial service was Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Rev. R. Van Rathbun officiating, Interment was in Capel Township Cemetery of rural Orange City. Mrs. Koerselman was born March. 26, 1920, to Henry and Gertrude (Scholten) Oostenink in rural Hull. She was raised in rural Hull and attended a country school there. Mrs. Koerselman was born March. 26, 1920, to Henry and Gertrude (Scholten) Oostenink in rural Hull. She was raised in rural Hull and attended a country school there. She married Gary Koerselman on September 24, 1941, in her parents home at rural Hull. The couple lived for a short time in Visalia, California, where her husband, was stationed during WW II. They moved to Sioux City and then settled on the Koerselman family farm at rural Middleburg, where they resided until 1968. They moved to Sioux Center in November of 1968. She worked as a housekeeper at the Sioux Center Community Hospital for 20 years. Through the years she was active in church ladies' groups, church choirs and later was involved with her husband in the Senior Saints. She loved music, cooking and baking, sewing and handwork. She crocheted many doilies, afghans and baby blankets. Even after difficulty with her health, she kept up on crocheting baby blankets to the very end. Sioux Center News 2007-11-07.
