Description	:	Leona Louise Ella "Lee" Stork, 81, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. She was born February 8th, 1930 on the family farm in Green Isle, Minnesota, to Edward and Margaret (Fries) Bruch. Leona and her six siblings worked together on the family dairy farm. Read More	Leona Louise Ella "Lee" Stork, 81, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. She was born February 8th, 1930 on the family farm in Green Isle, Minnesota, to Edward and Margaret (Fries) Bruch. Leona and her six siblings worked together on the family dairy farm. She and her family were members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended the Green Isle township school through 8th grade then stayed home to help care for her oldest brother Eddie who suffered from Bright's Disease. In 1951 she married Gilbert Arthur ZumBerge of Glencoe, MN. She was employed by Glencoe Municipal Hospital as a practical nurse. Gilbert and Leona moved to Chaska, MN and worked together on a Grade A Milk Bottling Dairy Farm. They became the proud parents of 4 children, Nancy Lee followed by Wendy Jean, Penny Rae and a son, Terry Arthur. In 1959 Gilbert passed away. Following his death, Leona returned to work in Arlington, MN assisting with the completion of a new retirement home. She later married Sterling "Koko" Virgil Sperstad from Hanska, MN. He adopted Leona's children and they moved to Mankato, MN. Together they had 3 children, Sammy Dean, Jacqie Lynn, and Lori Margaret. The family purchased and operated the Gambles Hardware store in Winnebago, MN. Sterling passed away in 1963. After his death, Leona returned to work at Dekalb and attended beauty school in Mankato, MN, while her mother moved in with her to help care for her 7 children. In 1965 Leona married Leonard Leroy Brinkman of Fremont, NE widower of Wilma (Schultz) Brinkman and Father of 6 children John Jay, Phyllis Elaine, Marlys Ann, Darrel Dean, Laura Louise, and Ronald Lee. The families were joined and they initially resided in a 2 bedroom home in Fremont. Soon to follow was the birth of Heidi Kay. Shortly thereafter, Leonard designed and built a large home south of Fremont where he and Leona together with 14 children resided. In 1967 Becky Jo was born bringing the family total to 15 children. They became members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont where many of the children went to school. Leonard and Leona worked together in sales for the Neo-life company. Later Leonard and Leona were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Fremont. Leonard passed away in 1981. In 1983, Leona married Gerald (Jerry) Lew Stork of Arlington, NE. Their marriage was sealed in the Dallas, TX Temple in 1985. They lived south of Fremont. Leona and Gerald continued to work in Nutritional sales and also owned and ran the Pat Walker Fitness Center in downtown Fremont. In the year 2000 Gerald and Leona moved to the Somers Point Retirement Community in Fremont. Gerald passed away in 2005. After his death Leona continued to work as an independent sales consultant for many nutritional supplement companies. In 2010 she moved to Valley NE to live at Orchard Gardens Assisted Living where she was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in June of this year. She lived out her remaining days at Arbor Manor with constant family vigil. Leona had a wealth of knowledge and compassion for others and assisted many in guiding them to better health. She was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother and her faith and family were her greatest blessings. Survivors include; John Brinkman of Arvada, CO, Phyllis Grubb (Keith), of Minneapolis, MN, Marlys Brinkman-Davis of Denver, CO, Darrel Brinkman (Kristi) of Bartlesville, OK, Wendy Mahlendorf (Don) of Omak, WA, Laura Kellner (Mike) of Fremont, NE, Penny Rae-Ellis (Elijah) of Tucson, AZ, Terry Sperstad of Fort Collins, CO, Ronald Brinkman (Jayne) of Coon Rapids, MN, Sammy Sperstad of Greeley, CO, Jacqie Freund (Ricki),of Fremont, NE, Lori Brainard of Fremont, NE Heidi Everly (Keith) of Fremont NE and Becky Iwan (Raymond Jr.) of Fremont, NE. One sister, Delores Zuelch(Ernie) of Le Center, MN and one sister-in-law Marlene Bruch of Arlington, MN, 44 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four husbands, three brothers, Edmund, Harvey, and Loren, two sisters, Laura (Bruch) Bluemke, Petzel, and Lucille (Bruch) Wiedenroth, her daughter, Nancy and one daughter-in-law, Pamela Lorraine (Dussalt) Sperstad. The Memorial service will be 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fremont. Bishop Paul George will officiate. There is no visitation however friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Burial is at Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. Memorials may be given to the family.
