Description	:	SCRANTON -- Mrs. Iva Leona McKnight Filyaw, 84, wife of Sauls Filyaw, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mrs. Filyaw was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Thomas M. and Annie Idell McCutcheon McKnight. She was a graduate of Scranton High School and a homemaker. She was a member of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church where she had served as the church pianist for a number of years, a former Sunday School teacher and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Filyaw was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Thomas M. and Annie Idell McCutcheon McKnight. She was a graduate of Scranton High School and a homemaker. She was a member of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church where she had served as the church pianist for a number of years, a former Sunday School teacher and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Sauls Filyaw of Scranton; two sons, Jim (Sue) Filyaw of Brooksville, Fla., and Tom (Margie) Filyaw of Lancaster; two sisters, Opal Wise and Ruby Graham, both of Scranton; two grandchildren, Wes (Marla) Filyaw of Landis, N.C., and Ashley D. Filyaw of Lancaster; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle Filyaw and Brady Filyaw, both of Landis, N.C. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ola M. Gause and Ruth M. McKenzie; and a brother, T.M. McKnight Jr. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, in the High Hill Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to High Hill Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 343, Scranton, SC 29591. The family will have visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home, and other times at the home of Opal M. Wise, 1261 McKnight Road, Scranton, SC 29591. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
