Leona graduated from Sterling High School in 1938. She married Alvin Parde May 18, 1941. She taught many years for Sterling Public School.

Survivors include: son, Melvin (Peggy) Parde; daughters, Joyce (John) Wolff and Marcella (Tom) Ament; daughter-in-law, Debra Parde; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
