Description	:	Leona Nellie Voigts, age 92, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born August 6, 1920, the daughter of Henry and Ada (Riden) Klunder, in Clarksville. She received her education and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1938. Leona was united in marriage with Vern Voigts. They lived on a farm near Vilmer, and moved to a farm near Nashua and then later moved into Clarksville. They were later divorced. Read More	Leona Nellie Voigts, age 92, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born August 6, 1920, the daughter of Henry and Ada (Riden) Klunder, in Clarksville. She received her education and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1938. Leona was united in marriage with Vern Voigts. They lived on a farm near Vilmer, and moved to a farm near Nashua and then later moved into Clarksville. They were later divorced. Leona was employed at Ahrens Rest Home in Clarksville for many years. Later she worked as a cook at Community Nursing home from 1975 until 1991. She became a resident of the nursing home in 2002. Leona was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo through the years, with her sister and later at the home. She enjoyed the musical entertainment at the home and was known to be a ‘social butterfly', visiting with everyone. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren. Leona died Friday, January 18, 2013, of complications of pneumonia, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Howard Klunder and Calvin Klunder; one sister, Viola Ahrens and great-granddaughters, Morgan and Megan Sankey. Leona is survived by one son, Robert (Ardith) Voigts, Clarksville, Iowa and one daughter, Betty (Keith) Holm, Tripoli, Iowa; five grandchildren, Lori (Dan) Edeker, Jody (Rhonda) Niehaus, Kelly Sankey, Tammy (Adam) Kaufman and Lance Holm (Josh); nine great-grandchildren, Quinn and Dylan Edeker, Kenedrick, Kierra and Kinley Saulsberry; Brady Maurer, Wally Kaufman and Tyler and Trever Niehaus; and one sister-in-law, Kiyo Klunder, Okinawa. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in the Lynwood Cemetery both in Clarksville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, (319)278-4245, and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Clarksville Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center.
