Kennedy of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Onslow died November 18 at Meth-Wick Manor in Cedar Rapids, IA. Leona Pichner was born August 18, 1899 at Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of John and Eleanor Riddle Pichner. She graduated from Washington high School and attended Coe College for Two years. Leona taught high school at Onslow for three years. On February 28, 1923, she married Kenneth Kennedy at Cedar Rapids, IA. They lived in Onslow where they owned Kennedy Lumber Company until 1948. They then lived in Anamosa and Delhi for several years before retiring to Meth-Wick Manor in 1980. Kenneth died in 1985. She was a member of the Onslow Presbyterian Church, a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, the F.U.,PEO sisterhood of Anamosa, the Paint 'N Palet Club of Anamosa and had served as president of the Onslow school board and the Jones County Federated Club. Leona is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Walters of Wyoming and Marilee Schwennsen of Longmont, CO; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
