Description	:	Leona Beehler Madler, 97, of Billings, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Aspen Meadows TLC Unit. Leona was born on June 7, 1915, in Wilton, N.D., the daughter of Jake and Katherine (Bucholz) Steinert. She moved north of Miles City with her parents. Read More	Leona Beehler Madler, 97, of Billings, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Aspen Meadows TLC Unit. Leona was born on June 7, 1915, in Wilton, N.D., the daughter of Jake and Katherine (Bucholz) Steinert. She moved north of Miles City with her parents. Leona married Anton (Tony) John Beehler in Miles City, on Dec. 22, 1934. One of the first jobs that Leona and Tony had was working in the beet fields in Sheffield, Mont. Tony and Leona had a son and three daughters. While raising her family Leona also was a waitress for the Range Riders, later working for the 600 Café. Leona and Tony loved to play pinochle and dance waltzes and polkas at either Eagle's or the Moose Lodge, where a few times Leona and Tony won trophies for their dancing at polka festivals. Leona and Tony also loved being around their family, either at holiday time or on fishing trips, or even taking vacations. Leona lost Tony on July 4, 1987. In June l993, Leona married John Madler in Billings, and lost John in May 1998. Leona is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hilda Lilienthal, Francis White; and four brothers, Leonard Steinert, Willis Steinert, Vernon Steinert and Willard Steinert; one daughter, Delores Claver; daughter-in-law, and Dave Claver; one grandson, Robert Rodell and one granddaughter, Kathy Beehler Goodson. Leona is survived by one son, Richard Beehler, of Billings, and two daughters, Charlene Schumacher, of Arizona, and Norma Ludwig, of Billings; one brother, Irvin (Barbara) Steinert, of Miles City; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Steinert, of Washington, Julia Steinert, of Broadus, Mont., Mary Helen Steinert, of Missoula, Mont., and Grace Peterson, of Washington; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; also, two very special friends, Edith Wilkerson and Don Finch. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. We all love you mom, sister and grandma and we will miss you but we know that you are in a good place now and with your family in heaven. Thanks to the staff of Aspen Meadows TLC Unit for taking good care of Leona till the very end. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Smith West Chapel. Interment will follow at Terrace Gardens Cemetery.
