She was baptized at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. She graduated from Shipley High School in 1938. Leona married Lester John Larson on September 9, 1944. Three children, Lloyd, Ruth and Donna were born to this union. Leona is survived by her daughter, Donna Larson-Knox; two grandchildren, Angela (Greg) Hitt and Brandon Knox; and two great-granddaughters, Delaney and Emily, all of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; an infant son, Lloyd; her daughter, Ruth Ann; and one brother, Arnold Larson.
