Description	:	Leona Ayers, age 91, of Redlands, CA; formerly of Madison; died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at her residence in Redlands. Leona W. Moose was born September 21, 1914, at Junius, SD. Leona was the youngest of five children born to Joseph and Mary Moose. She attended country schools and graduated from Orland High School in 1933. Her family and the Delbert Ayers family of Winfred had known each other as farmers and she married their middle son, Floyd Ayers, on September 8, 1936. Read More	Leona Ayers, age 91, of Redlands, CA; formerly of Madison; died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at her residence in Redlands. Leona W. Moose was born September 21, 1914, at Junius, SD. Leona was the youngest of five children born to Joseph and Mary Moose. She attended country schools and graduated from Orland High School in 1933. Her family and the Delbert Ayers family of Winfred had known each other as farmers and she married their middle son, Floyd Ayers, on September 8, 1936. In March of 1938, their oldest daughter Barbara was born and in June of the same year, Floyd and Leona left Madison for a job with a road construction company that took them to the Black Hills and the Sioux Indian reservation. They spent the winter of 1938 and 1939 in California where Floyd's parents and grandparents lived. In 1940, they moved to California, residing at Hermosa Beach until 1988 when Floyd passed away. In the summer of 1989, Leona moved to Redlands to be closer to her daughters who lived in Redlands and Riverside, CA. Leona was active in the Brownies and Girl Scouts as well as the South Bay Auxiliary of Children's Hospital where she spent many hours volunteering in the Thrift Shop. She was also active in the Redlands hospital auxiliary. SURVIVORS: include two daughters, Barbara (LeRoy) Zuccolotto of San Clemente, CA and Donna (Tom) Sparkman of Riverside, CA; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
