Description	:	Mrs. Hughey Dies While Attending Church Service Mrs. Leona Wisher Hughey, 37, wife of Sam Hughey, of the McKown's Mountain section on route 6, died Wednesday night while at tending religious services at the McKown's Mountain school. Read More	Mrs. Hughey Dies While Attending Church Service Mrs. Leona Wisher Hughey, 37, wife of Sam Hughey, of the McKown's Mountain section on route 6, died Wednesday night while at tending religious services at the McKown's Mountain school. The Rev. Ray Maynor, of Gaffney, has been conducting a series of meetings this week in the school building, Mrs. Hughey had been attending regularly. She walked from her home to the school, a distance of about two miles, carrying a two-months-old baby with her. As the song service was in progress, she was suddenly stricken and died an a few minutes. She was a daughter of the late Ed and Eallie Martin Wisher. Funeral services were conducted at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the Sardis Methodist church by Mr. Maynor. Interment followed in the church cemetery with the Shuford-Hatcher Company, morticians, in charge. The pallbearers were Fred, Freeland, Brawley and William Mullanax, James Poole and Dewey Painter. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hughey is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dobson Mullinax, and Misses Thelma, Gladys and Lois Hughey; three sons, Boyd, Ray and Lowery Hughey;. four sisters, Mrs. Violet Hughey, Mrs. Eunice Owens, of Cherokee Falls, Mrs. Deseree Martin, of York, and Mrs. Etha Smith; a brother, Ezell Wisher; and one grandchild.
