Description	:	Leonard “Lenny” Alois Wiese entered into heaven on Friday, April 21, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at Columbus Community Hospital. A Memorial Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on May 8 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Fr. Joe Miksch celebrating the Mass. The family will receive friends on May 7 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Rosary at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation will continue on May 8 beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Memorials are suggested to that of donor's or family choice. Lenny was born February 4, 1932, in Lindsay, Nebraska, to Henry and Rose (Borer) Wiese. He attended school at Lindsay Holy Family until the 8th grade; after that, he was needed to help on the family farm. Lenny enlisted into the US Army on August 25, 1952, at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, during the Korean War. He went to Germany and France, and back to Kaiserslautern, Germany, and was discharged in the fall of 1954 in New York City, ranking as a Corporal. He married Geraldine Rist on October 25, 1955, in Humphrey, NE. They were blessed with 8 children. Lenny worked for Behlen Manufacturing for 22 years as a welder. After Behlen’s, Lenny provided for his family by working out of his shop, creating and repairing just about anything that was asked of him. Lenny enjoyed camping and going on many traveling vacations in his mobile home, accompanied by friends and family. Lenny also enjoyed playing cards, watching Husker football or any baseball game on TV, and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Lenny was one of the founding members of St. Isidore Church. Lenny is survived by: Son: Bob (Kim) Wiese, of Wichita KS Daughter: Lori (Bruce) Setlik of Omaha, NE Daughter: Lisa (Randy) Lucht of Columbus, NE Son: Art (Mary) Wiese of Lincoln, NE Daughter: Linda (Jerry) Staroscik of Columbus, NE Son: Gary (Michelle) Wiese of Fremont, NE Son: Doug Wiese of Columbus, NE Twin Brother: Dave (Delores) Wiese of Lindsay, NE Sister: Alice Maresh of Dodge NE Sister: Sr. Thelma Wiese Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity of Manitowoc, WI 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews Lenny was proceeded in death by: Wife: Geraldine (Rist) Wiese Infant daughter: Mary Wiese Parents: Henry (Hank) and Rose Wiese Brothers: Ed, Bill, Ray, Harold, and Rich Wiese Sisters: Beda Behmer, and Eleanor Wiese Sister and brother in-laws
