Read More	Laura Mary Barrett married Leonard Arthur Miller on October 1, 1938, in Havre. They did not have children. When I visited them in 1979 Mrs. Miller was bedridden and had been for several years from the debilitating effects of a brain aneurysm. Mentally she was sharp as a tack and her memory was nothing short of incredible, but her speech had been affected, which must have been extremely difficult for her. Tears came to her eyes as she remembered younger days and loved ones who had gone before, struggling to put those memories into words. With Leonard’s help, since he knew what she was trying to say, it became an informative and memorable visit. Despite her handicap, it was evident to all that knew them that their love and devotion for each other had not wavered. Laura passed away on March 31, 1991, in Havre. Leonard passed away on October 27, 1996, in Fergus County. Havre Daily News Oct. 29,1996 Leonard Miller, 88, Havre died at a local care center on Sunday evening, Oct. 27,1996, of natural causes. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Jude's Catholic Church with Father Patrick R. Zabrocki officiating. The burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Havre. He was born on Feb. 29,1908 in Starkweather, N.D., to Henry and Lydia (Beecher) Miller. He came to Montana with his family at the age of four. He attended rural grade school, graduated from Hingham High School and later attended MSU at Bozeman. He farmed north of Gildford, Kremlin and Havre. He farmed all of his adult life until 1994, when his illness forced him to retire from farming. On Oct. 2,1938, he married Laura Barrett. He was his wife's care giver from 1963 until her death in 1991. He was baptize and confirmed member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church until his marriage at which time he joined his wife's church. He was an active member of Saint Jude's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Havre Rotary Club, A.S.C.S. County Committee, and was active in the formation of the Havre Senior Citizens. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is survived by three sisters, Laura Aageson, Lillian Nace of Havre and Pearl Hamilton of Chinook, long time companion Mildred Styber of Havre and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his two brothers Henry and Louis. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
