Description	:	Pfc. Leonard Dorsch was reported MIA on April 25, 1951 while serving with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. His status was MIA/Probably KIA. Other soldiers from Pfc. Dorsch's unit reported that he was last seen being led away, hands clasped at the back of his helmet with guns to his head, by enemy soldiers, possibly Chinese. From that point on, it is not known what happened to Pfc. Dorsch. His remains were not recovered in the area at the time, nor at any time since. His name was never listed as being... Read More	Pfc. Leonard Dorsch was reported MIA on April 25, 1951 while serving with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. His status was MIA/Probably KIA. Other soldiers from Pfc. Dorsch's unit reported that he was last seen being led away, hands clasped at the back of his helmet with guns to his head, by enemy soldiers, possibly Chinese. From that point on, it is not known what happened to Pfc. Dorsch. His remains were not recovered in the area at the time, nor at any time since. His name was never listed as being taken prisoner of war. The Army has officially classified him as being killed in action. He has a military gravestone in the Johnson Cemetery and a burial space awaiting him should his remains ever be found and identified. Sadly, he remains on the list of unrecovered personnel from the Korean War era. His brother, Larry, has submitted DNA samples in the hope that Leonard's remains will someday be repatriated, identified and laid to final rest with his parents. He was the oldest of seven boys born to Carl and Hazel Dorsch. On the night of April 25, 1951, near Munsan, South Korea, a massive Chinese attack overran Company G's defensive position. Although PFC Dorsch was seen being taken captive, he was officially listed as Killed in Action. His remains were never recovered.∼PFC ARMY. From Tecumseh, NE. Died/captured in So Korea. MIA. Dorsch wrote to family friend just before being captured or killed: "I'm ready to go home now, but I guess I can't. Maybe I can soon, though. I sure hope so."
