Leonard Melvin Albus was born on September 23, 1931, the son of John H. and Lydia (Schaffer) Albus at Edmunds, ND. He was raised and attended school in Carrington, graduating with honors in 1949. Leonard enlisted with the National Guard in 1951, he was a Sergeant in Company F, 164th Infantry, and was Honorably Discharged in 1953. Albus, age 81, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Fargo, ND. Leonard Melvin Albus was born on September 23, 1931, the son of John H. and Lydia (Schaffer) Albus at Edmunds, ND. He was raised and attended school in Carrington, graduating with honors in 1949. Leonard enlisted with the National Guard in 1951, he was a Sergeant in Company F, 164th Infantry, and was Honorably Discharged in 1953. Leonard enlisted in the US Army in 1957, and served overseas before his Honorable Discharge on June 4, 1960. He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1970. Leonard moved to New York and was an executive on Wall Street before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida where he worked in real-estate. He retired and moved to Fargo in April 1992. Leonard was a kind and caring person with a good sense of humor. Leonard is survived by one sister, Janice Hardy, Brunswick, Maine; two nieces, Sandi Albus Linehan, Elizabeth, CO, and Debbie Hardy Martellone; five nephews, Bill, John, Paul, Bob, and Jim Hardy; and close friend, Kathie Sletmoe, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leo Albus.
