Description	:	Leonard Monroe Bruce, 85, of Glen Allen, has responded to the call of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has gone to his glad eternal Reunion on May 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith I. Bruce; two sons, Harold Bruce and Keith Bruce; three daughters Diane Atkins, Judy Naumann and Michelle Pasowicz. He was the grandfather of 12, one deceased; and great-grandfather of 14, one deceased. Leonard was the son of the late Homer and Laura Bruce of Caroline County. Leonard was the son of the late Homer and Laura Bruce of Caroline County. Leonard was one of 17 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Aubrey C., Wesley, Elwood, Frank, Johnny, Shirley and Betty. He is survived by Virginia, Evelyn, Mae, Francis, Robert Lee, Dorothy and Ethel. Leonard was a lifetime farmer selling fruits and vegetables and was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. In fulfilling the great commission in spreading the Gospel, he was a missionary and he served in prison ministry for eighteen years. He was a member of the Ashland Church of God in his early years and in later years attended Mechanicsville Christian Center. He will be dearly missed. The family requests any donations to be made to Ashland Church of God or Asera Care Hospice, who took loving care of Leonard and his family. The family will receive friends in the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, on Wednesday, June 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ashland Church of God, followed by burial in Signal Hill Memorial Park.
