Jacob M. and Ida M. Royer Fross. He was married Aug. 19, 1918, to Inez A. Thompson, who survives. He had lived all of his life in Liberty Township, residing in the same home for more than 80 years. Fross, 88, Rt. 3, Monticello, died at 7:23 p.m. Monday in White County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. He was born Aug. 15, 1899, in Liberty Township, White County, to Rev. Jacob M. and Ida M. Royer Fross. He was married Aug. 19, 1918, to Inez A. Thompson, who survives. He had lived all of his life in Liberty Township, residing in the same home for more than 80 years. He was a school bus driver for Liberty Township schools. He farmed and was a self-employed truck driver, hauling farm products, for 60 years. He and his wife were named the oldest married couple in the township at the Buffalo centennial in 1986. He was a member of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren. Also surviving are three daughters, Jean York, Monticello, Mary Jo Baker, Indianapolis, and June Smith, Auburndale, Fla.; a son, Leonard "Lyle", Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A son, two brothers, a sister and a great-grandchild preceded in death. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Miller Voorhis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hughes Cemetery, White County. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pike Creek Church of the Brethren.
