Besides his loving wife Leone, he is survived by one sister Margaret (Alvin) Mattson and Brother Lyle (Simonne) Flynn both of Medicine Hat, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was predeceased by one sister Marion (Bill) Graham of Red Deer in 1986. Len was born in Medicine Hat on February 23, 1921. He joined the Calgary Highlander Regiment in 1939 and served overseas until his discharge in August 1945; while in France Len was wounded in action. Len and Leone were married March 22, 1948 in the Westminster United Church in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Len has lived all of his life in Medicine Hat and had been employed as a Railway Mail Clerk after returning from overseas. From 1960 until his retirement on April 30, 1980 Len worked at the B.C. Trust and at the Canada Trust Company. Len was a member of the Masonic Lodge #2, a 33rd Degree Mason, Past District Deputy Grand Master, a Member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner, a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Member of the Elks, a Past Member of the Medicine Hat Cypress Club, a Life Member of the Connaught Golf Club; a Member of the Royal Order of Scotland and was an active volunteer with CanSurmount. The funeral services will be held on Monday morning, October 5th, 1987 at 11:00 A.M. in Westminster United Church with Reverend Donald Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The family gratefully decline flowers and those wishing to remember Mr. Len Flynn may do so with a donation to either the Canadian Cancer Society c/o 631 – Prospect Drive S.W., or to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, c/o #208 – 430 – 6th Avenue S.E. Medicine Hat. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to COOK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL LIMITED. =============================
