Seehusen of Monticello died early Tuesday, April 16,1996 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Leone W. Serbousek was born Aug. 4, 1910 at Center Junction, the daughter of Lavern and Matie Helgens Serbousek. She received her education in the Center Junction schools where she graduated in 1927. She had worked as a young woman at the Center Junction Telephone Company as an operator. Following her graduation from high school, she worked as an operator at the Hopkinton Phone Company. Leone W. Serbousek and Henry Seehusen were married April 23, 1928 at Iowa City. The couple made their home in Monticello where Henry operated Monticello Auto Parts and Supply. He died July 6,1990. In August of 1994, Mrs. Seehusen moved to Garnet Place in Cedar Rapids, then in August of 1995, she moved to North Brook Manor Care Center. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she was active in her Circle and the Bible study. For many years, she was active in the Monticello Camp Fire Organization. Survivors include three children: Jane (Robert) Barton, Minneapolis, Minn., James (Beulah) Seehusen, Omaha, Nebr., Gene (Jean) Seehusen, Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two sisters, JoAnn Burichter of Dubuque, and Pauline Archer of Compton, I11. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
