Description	:	Bellwood Gazette Nov 8, 1918 Leopold Bock, two weeks ago Monday last, was stricken down with heart trouble and about a week thereafter he was taken to the hospital at David City, where pneumonia developed, death following in about 24 hours after the dread disease set in. He was married to Miss Amelia Kimmit May 25, 1880 at St. Paul, Minnesota, to which union three children were born. Two died in infancy and were buried at Le Suerer, Minnesota. He was one of the best blacksmith's in the state and drew work from miles distant. When the Gazette scribe first came to Bellwood he worked for a man named Mokler in a blacksmith shop located where F.C. Judevines's garage now stands. From the Mokler shop he went to work for himself in the building east of his residence, where he has been for over thirty two years. He was 66 years of age. He is survived by an only daughter, Mrs. O.A. Brandenburgh, also three brothers, Matt of Le Suerer, Minn., Vincent of Columbus, Anton of Cedar Bluff, one sister, Mrs. Anton Nytes of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Vincent and Tony were present at the funeral, which was held Monday morning at his late residence, conducted by Father Frans, pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church, after which his body was taken to the Luxemburg cemetery for interment. Owing much to so much sickness the attendance was not very large. Joe as he was always called, was a man who was upright in his dealings with his fellow men. He served as one of the village trusteee's of Bellwood for several terms and was a member when he died. His daughter, Mrs. Brandenburgh, who cared for him and bestowed on him a daughter's love for many years, in her sad bereavement, has the sympathy of everybody in this community.
