Read More	Leota Lizzie Hiebenthal Hasebroock 7-19-1909 to 5-15-2000 The Fremont Tribune July 19, 1909 -- May 15, 2000 Leota L. Hasebroock, 90, of Fremont passed away Monday, May 15, 2000, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Leota was born July 19, 1909 on the family farm near Randolph. She lived in the Herman area through her teen years. On August 6, 1937, she married Paul Hasebroock in Scribner. They farmed in Scribner and Hooper area. They retired from farming in 1951 and moved to Fremont. They worked and owned Fremont Automatic Laundry. Paul passed away in 1971. Leota also started work in 1972 at Schweser's Department Store, and Vienna Bakery, both in Fremont. She retired in 1975. Leota was loved by all who knew her due to her sweet disposition. She was a woman of few words, always kind to others, and never complained to people. She particularly enjoyed being at family celebrations or holidays, right in the middle of the conversation, listening, and just taking it all in. With her sons and grandsons big into football, she was also a Husker. She enjoyed listening to the games and watching them on TV as she knew that would certainly be a big topic of conversation with "the guys." One of her life-long joys was working with her hands doing needlework. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, crocheting and cross-stitch. Throughout the years she has made hundreds of handmade projects for family and friends. Her work was meticulous, and each stitch perfect. She is loved forever, and will be missed by all her family and friends! Leota is survived by two sons, Steve and wife Linda Hasebroock of Fremont and Ronald and wife Dawn Hasebroock of Arvada, Co.; daughter, Shirley and husband Frederick Bengston of Uehling; and five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Leota was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held on May 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with Rev. Phillip Vance officiating. Burial was in the Hooper Cemetery in Hooper. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church music fund.
