Born January 20, 1933, in Friendsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Olin and Evelyn (Humberson) Friend. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Stover and siblings, Theresa Hetrick, Betty Selby and Walter Friend. She is survived by her children, Janie Beitzel and husband, Wayne, David Stover and wife, Chase and Judy Tran and husband, Sonny; her grandchildren, DJ Stover, Ben Beitzel and wife, Alicia, Laura Root and husband, Tim, Sophie Tran and Matthew Tran and her great-grandchildren, Annie Beitzel, Evie Root, Liam and Piper Beitzel. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Blooming Rose United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dana Umbel officiating, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Garrett Co. Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Blooming Rose United Methodist Church, c/o Betty Frantz, P.O. Box 371, Friendsville, MD 21531.
