Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Mr. Lemburg was born on Sept 22, 1927 in Dannebrog to Gus and Dora (Becker) Lemburg. He grew up and was educated in Dannebrog and Grand Island. He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 31, 1946 and served in Guam during World War II. He wa honnorably discharged on March 17, 1947, in California. He married Frances Rhoades on June 12, 1953, at Stromsburg. The couple lived in Grand Island where he worked for Fairacres Dairy until 1960 and then began working for Conoco Courts. He was employed by Sheffield Tree Service as a tree trimmer in 1972. He retired in 1977. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Platt-Duetsche. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Susan Dahlke of Grand Island, Lucille Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dora Louise Crom of Fremont; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; Willis Lemberg of Cairo, Mervin Lemberg of Hershey and Lowen Lemberg of Norfolk; and three sisters, Elaine Grim of Dannebrog, Phyllis Vogel of Cairo and Lois Middlested of Warsaw, Ill. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Ivan Lemburg.
