Description	:	LEROY BLAIR Death of a Soldier Pioneer Leroy Blair was born in Seneca, O., Dec. 16, 1844, and died Dec. 22, 1911, at his home near Lewiston, Neb. With his parents he moved to Michigan as a mere boy. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the union army, in Co. F., 11th Mich. cavalry. Read More	LEROY BLAIR Death of a Soldier Pioneer Leroy Blair was born in Seneca, O., Dec. 16, 1844, and died Dec. 22, 1911, at his home near Lewiston, Neb. With his parents he moved to Michigan as a mere boy. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the union army, in Co. F., 11th Mich. cavalry. He came to Nebraska in an early day, as a young man, and grew up with the country. We considered him one of the few left among us termed as an early settler. Sarah Shellhorn was given to him in marriage on Dec. 16, 1871, and to their union were born 12 children, two dying in infancy. The rest of the family reside as follows: Mrs. O. A. Kinyon, DuBois, John A. Blair, Lethrage, Canada, Willis Blair, Sedan, Mont., and Mrs. Walter Selemey, Myrtle, Harley, Leon, Leonard, Walter and Ethel, at Lewiston. Besides his widow and children and two brothers he leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss. Mr. Blair was in poor health for some time, but no one thought his ailment so serious, but he seemed to know and set about to place his house in order ready for his departure. The funeral was conducted at the home Sunday, Dec. 24, by John D. Hammel, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church at Lewiston, after which the remains were conveyed to the Pawnee City cemetery, where interment was had under the direction of the Grand Army of the Republic.
