A gathering for celebrating his life will be held Thursday at 11 AM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel led by the Reverends Tom Malin and Kevin Jackson. Read More	"Mr. Leroy Carraway, 75, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014. Mr. Carraway, a native of the Belvoir community of Pitt County, had made his home in the Falkland community for the past 34 years. He traveled as a salesman for plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning for many years, mostly for Standard Supply and later co-owner of H & C Supply. He was a member of Gum Swamp OFWB Church, where he had served as a deacon and was active in the Laymen's League. Mr. Carraway was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Mildred Teel Carraway; brothers, John Ashley Carraway, Luther "Bud" Edward Carraway, and George Wiley Carraway. He is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Loyce Corbett Carraway; sons, David Carraway and wife, Lydia, and Tony Carraway and wife, Terry, all of Falkland; daughters, Dr. Lisa Nelson and husband, Mark, of Washington, and Kim Currin and husband, Creighton, of Grimesland; grandchildren, Lee Carraway, Erin C. Haddock and husband, David, Daniel Carraway, Preston Nelson and wife, Rebecca, Jonathan Nelson and wife, Melissa, Jannon N. VanHonk and husband, Chris, Heather C. Creech and husband, Jason, and Meghan Campbell; 8 great grandchildren, Chasity, Leah, Jacob, Becca, John, Sophia, Ella Thomas, and Parker; sister, Marie Briley and husband, Spook, of Stokes; brother, Ronnie Carraway and wife, Joy, of Belvoir; sisters in-law, Marie Carraway, and Janice Wooten and husband, Jerry; brother-in-law, Frankie Corbett and Brenda; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times will be at the home. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Gum Swamp OFWB Church, 2072 Gum Swamp Church Road, Greenville, NC 27834."
