Description	:	Obituary: G.W. Lundy received a message Monday telling of the death of his son, Roy C. Lundy, at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., where he had gone only eleven days before to enter limited military service in the U.S. Army. Death was caused by pneumonia, following bronchitis. Mr. Lundy went to Jefferson Barracks Monday evening, returning yesterday afternoon with the remains which were interred in the Fontanelle cemetery immediately following the arrival here. Leroy Cornelius Lundy was born in Phillips County, near Long Island, Kansas, July 23, 1886, and died at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., October 14, 1918, aged 32 years, 2 months and 14 days. His mother left him when he was a small child, and he came with his father and two sisters to Fontanelle in 1892 [sic, 1895]. He was married to Alta Keeley [sic, Keely] in September, 1906. ... He leaves, besides his father, his foster mother and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Weber, of Carroll, and Mrs. Bessie Keeley [sic, Keely], of Scranton, Nebr., his wife and other relatives. Roy was a Fontanelle boy during his childhood, though since he attained his majority he has spent the most of his time elsewhere. He is remembered here as an industrious, honorable young man, and his service to his country, though of short duration, has doubly sanctified his memory. The community feels with his parents the sorrow of his loss, and sincerely sympathize with those who feel the loss most keenly. [This page is maintained by the great grand nephew of Roy Lundy.]
