Description	:	LeRoy Hintz, was born June 19, 1938, at Coleridge to Charles and Lois (Rose) Hintz. LeRoy died Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Norfolk Veterans Home. LeRoy graduated from Belden High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army from June 13, 1957, to March 12, 1959, and served in the Army Reserves until 1963. LeRoy married Janice M. Weber Sept. 11, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Foster. He owned and operated LeRoy's Sanitary Service. LeRoy worked for Ceco Steel Structures and assisted in building the colleges at Ames, Iowa, and Wayne. He was employed by Simpson Structures and assisted in building of Norfolk High School. LeRoy coached basketball for St. Paul's Lutheran School. He was a reserve policeman for Norfolk. He was was a salesman for Hamms Beer Distributors. In 1974, along with his wife and children, they established LeRoy's Sanitary Service. In 1999, the business was called Affiliated Waste Services and was sold. LeRoy did odd jobs until his health declined. LeRoy was an avid hunter and belonged to the Pheasants Forever and the Turkey Federation, and member of the Norfolk Lions Club for many years. LeRoy enjoyed their teams of Welsh ponies, participating in parades and competition, and was a member of the Nebraskaland Spinning Spokes Club. He has been a resident of Norfolk (NE.) Veterans Home since October of 2009. Survivors are: wife, Janice M. Hintz of Norfolk; son, Steven and wife, Kathy Hintz of Madison; daughter, Patti and husband, Dana Podliska of Norfolk; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale and wife Jerri Hintz of Greeley, Colo., John Sr. and wife Rozanne Hintz of Dixon, Kenneth and wife Cheri Hintz of Belden and a host of relatives and friends. LeRoy was preceded in death by: parents and brother, Charles Hintz. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk, NE. and military rites by American Legion Post 16, VFW Post 1644 and the U.S. Army Honors Guard. Published Norfolk Daily News July 21, 2012
